"Empowering Veterans, Supporting Families, Building Futures"

Why give?

  • Veterans

By investing in programmes that cater to veterans unique needs and experiences, we can empower them to thrive in their post-military careers and contribute positively to the workforce.

  • Families

The MVH acknowledges the ongoing sacrifices made by family members of veterans and is committed to supporting them.

  • Learn

The MVH will offer training programs that include both certified and non-certified courses, with an emphasis on personal growth and self-care.

  • Study

The MVH recognizes that veterans and their families may lack computer access and quiet study areas. To assist, we created the Matglen IT corner for job searches, online courses, peer support, and mentoring from volunteer IT experts.

  • Socialise

The Matglen Social Corner is an inclusive space designed to be collaborative by bringing together veterans, support case workers from a variety of charities, and the wider community. A place to meet old and new veterans from all walks of life.

  • The Hub

The Matglen Veterans Hub (MVH) is a dedicated space designed exclusively for veterans and their families offering a wide range of educational opportunities, collaborative interactions, and support services.

 FAQs

  • CICs are limited companies which operate to provide a benefit to the community they serve.  The purpose of a CIC is primarily one of community benefit rather than private profit.

Examples of a CIC could be a direct welfare service to vulnerable people, or an activity that generates profits which are used to support a specific purpose such as a running a cafe where all profits generated are used to benefit the community.

A CIC operates in the same way as any other company. It has all the well understood characteristics of a limited company such as a separate legal identity; the ability to enter into contracts and own assets in its own name; and flexibility in borrowing and fund raising. The separate legal identity means that a CIC will continue to exist despite changes in ownership or management. The directors can be paid or unpaid and have the same rights and duties as any other directors.

CICs will become established as a brand of company that the public recognises and trusts and whose social purpose they understand.CICs are limited companies which operate to provide a benefit to the community they serve.  The purpose of a CIC is primarily one of community benefit rather than private profit.

  • An asset-locked body is a registered organization such as a community interest company (CIC), charity, Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), or a similar organization outside the UK. A CIC cannot nominate itself to receive its assets if it closes down. This rule ensures that its assets go to another community-focused organization. A CIC also cannot nominate an individual to receive its assets, even if that person helped the CIC.
